Archive for the “Meta-conversation” Category

This category is for posts about the blog.

Guess what guess what guess what!?!?!! The comments RSS feed on the Meta page actually works now! So now you can subscribe to all my comments, or you can subscribe to comments on a particular post by clicking on the “Comments” link and finding the RSS feed at the bottom.

Now I am happy that Bill upgraded. Hooray!

Due to the recent site upgrade, my template looks funny. Yeah, it’s not really supposed to be white. Sadly, I really don’t have the time to deal with it right now. Just trust me that I know about it, okay?

For those who are interested, my wife Crystal is blogging again. Her blog is entitled “Organized Chaos Called Home“. Go read it now!

It has been brought to my attention that there may be folks who could misunderstand the last couple of blog posts. So, allow me to explain.

First, as I noted elsewhere, I have the greatest respect for R.C. Sproul, Jr. and Doug Phillips. So, these posts were not directed at them.

Rather, they were directed at the bloggers who have been attacking these men. One of them has been caught faking a hack of his blog. A couple of others have also claimed to have hacking trouble, which I don’t believe. However, in the wake of these “troubles”, the accusations have flown, claiming that someone from Vision Forum/Highlands Study Center/some other target ministry were responsible for the hack attempts.

Quite frankly, this is absurd.

Thus, these posts.

I was just told about this. Apparently, the folks at Peoria.com automatically show posts from local bloggers with snippets from each post. That is very cool! Kudos to the folks at Peoria.com.

I know that this was a burst of writing. Originally I was planning on scheduling these articles and releasing them slowly. But I didn’t end up feeling like it. So, I guess I’m sorry that you have to read a lot, but I’m not that sorry.

I’m looking at you, Bryan, with a big cheesy grin.

Not on the house, silly people. On my blog! After being at this site for seven months, I finally got the title up on the banner. Yay me!

With some help from my co-worker Stephen Bock, I have fixed the comment text. Now you should actually be able to read what you’re typing. Thanks, Bock!

Given that an email went out with the URL of this blog, I thought that I’d take a moment to welcome all Providence members to my blog.

Hi!

Please leave a comment so that I can get you past my “approve the new people” moderation.

Check out this post.

My comment is a lie; I could delete the post if I wanted. However, I wanted to mention something significant.

I didn’t write that post.

Really. Someone actually hacked into my blog and left that post. Now that’s what I call audience participation!

Now, I have my suspicions who did it, but even if I’m wrong, I wanted to mention that, after my heart stopped pounding, I had a good laugh. So, keep up the good work!

There’s an actual conversation going on at the “New Experience” post. Please feel free to weigh in.

It has come to my attention that folks are being confused by The News from Orange Street. Specifically, people are uncertain where the boundary between fact and fiction lies.

On the one hand, this is gratifying, because it means that it’s working. Indeed, if you are wanting to comment or otherwise become part of this game, that is precisely the attitude that I’d like you to have as you post. Play the concerned friends that you actually are. It’ll be fun!

At the same time, I’d like to quote from the “About” page for the game:

This is not a real blog. This is, in fact, a game of imagination that is in process. Everything that you are reading is fiction. That includes all the comments. That’s right. The comments are part of the game, too.

So, please keep this in mind as you read.

Emphasis added.

That’s right. It’s all fiction. “But what about the stuff that’s true?” That’s fiction, too. Trust me. Even true things are false.

Or, in other words, Crystal hasn’t been sick for several days.

I thought that you’d all like to know.

I just added a new section to my links: Play by Web games. This is a fairly loose description, including Play by Email and various Java games. These are various boardgames that have been ported to the Web. When a site includes multiple games, I have listed them all, unless the list is too long. Feel free to leave comments with additional sites to add to this list.
